Architecture templates are a key point of reuse within architecture. Templates for artifacts, deliverables, presentations, and diagrams are a form of automation. Having templates means not reinventing the wheel whenever an architecture is being developed. Building from scratch for every architecture wastes time, effort, and money. Over time, every architect should have a core group of templates they leverage to maintain consistency across designs. Preferably or ideally, these templates should be in an enterprise architecture platform.
Artifact templates are used to gather information. This template is consolidated and focuses on the core areas of architecture between enterprise and cybersecurity architecture. It is based on TOGAF with SABSA items included because architects need to work collaboratively from the start.

Deliverables are the work product formalized into core documents for the overall architecture. These templates are consolidated and focused on the core areas of architecture between enterprise and cybersecurity architecture. They are based on TOGAF with SABSA items included. TOGAF’s metamodel and deliverables are very document-heavy; this is more of a light version.

These templates are more for briefing on the architecture developed. They are a necessary evil and needed for briefing the board of directors and executive and senior leaders. They should not be used exclusively to establish architectures.

The diagrams presented here leverage ArchiMate via Archi. Diagrams are not just how architecture is conducted but a reinforcing artifact used within presentations and deliverables. They capture domains of knowledge, requirements, and capabilities based on viewpoints and views. It is not the sole method for developing architectures, and they should not be used in that manner.
